Always Say Less than NecessaryWhen you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control.  Even if you are saying something banal, it will seem original if you make it vague, open-ended, and sphinxlike.  Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less.  The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish.

This has been my guiding principle ever since a certain somebody that I look up to instilled the importance of  keeping your mouth shut in my mind. Not everything that is meant to be told shall be heard, some things might seem meaningful as a thought but would pose pointless when spoken. No real mastermind would expose even a part of his plot, a magician's best act is his well kept secret trick. Big words full of big ideas do not count, unprecedented acts of greatness and success do.

More than that, we live in a world where a carefully polished thought can easily turn into a disastrous speech. We are all familiar with that "I-could-have-said-it-better" feeling because honestly no matter how well we compose our verses no words will ever amount to how we really feel.

Always say less than necessary.
